Youth and Students Reject Industrial Mining Mega Project Konawe

Southeast Sulawesi News_ Kendari - Industrial mining mega projects by PT Konawe Putra Propertindo (KKP) in the district Morosi and Bondoala, Konawe, accused of not having the document environmental impact assessment (EIA). The project also has violated guidelines spatial planning (RTRW) province of Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra). By doing so, will threaten the environment and endanger the survival of the surrounding community.

It was revealed Youth Association of Indonesian Students Konawe (IPPMIK) while demonstrating in Parliament secretariat Sultra, on Monday (22/06/2015). The amount of agricultural land and farms in Konawe be directly affected if the construction of mega industrial projects do not comply with procedures.

Chairman IPPMIK Ikram said the mega industrial locations in Bondoala and Morosi is a public water area used for working the fields and ponds. Industrial mega projects can generate highly destructive industrial pollution.

"The project impressed imposed by Konawe Regent Kery Saiful Konggoasa so do not think about the impact that will occur in the future. If the local government to impose Konawe the project because it will lead to a real criminal violating laws RTRW and land conversion," said Ikram.

Many stages are bypassed so only for the sake of the development of industrial mega projects including the conversion of ponds and paddy fields. By him, Ikram said Sultra Parliament together with the Governor Nur Alam should be able to stop the smelters in the industrial area of the mega project.
